NOS vintage gas station price sign number lot of 16 in original box service oil
New old stock old gas station price numbers still with thin wax paper between them and very poor original box. There are 16 total numbers, 2 each of all except no 6’s or 9’s. They are very vivid in color in that classic cream/red finish that just cannot be duplicated. The’very average’ quality of the paint and imperfections are common of genuine vintage signs. We are not sure what gas & oil brands would have used these. Each metal sign is 30″x8″. They are thin metal but 16 in the box makes this quite heavy. VTG 1940s Hotel or Motel Lighted Raymond M. Price R. M. P Halo Counter Sign/ Rooms
Here is a wonderful old lighted Motel Rooms sign. This sign was produced by Ramond M Price Inc. It is reverse painted glass and lighted. The style of sign is a halo or bar back style and sat on a counter or bar. This company was known for its brewery halo signs like Pabst and others. P Produced other advertising like cash register signs and clocks. They also produced lighted signs for other businesses. A Hotel or Motel ordered this sign from them. We do not have any idea what business it was or what city. There is some paint loss on the glass as well as other parts of the light along with a little patina in spots. The socket is original but the chord has been changed and there is no on off switch so a inline switch would be needed if so desired. We just had the light on a timer and never needed a switch. We used a 15 watt appliance bulb and it seemed to work good and not get to hot. The light does not come with the bulb.. The sign measures 9 inches tall by 10.5 inches wide. RARE VINTAGE 1950s COCA-COLA ILLUSION COUNTERTOP ROUND LIGHT-UP SIGN PRICE BROS
RARE VINTAGE 1950s ILLUSIONS DRINK COCA-COLA COUNTERTOP LIGHT-UP SIGN BY PRICE BROTHERS INC. – CHICAGO and NEW YORK — PATENT NO. Here is a unique, mid-century, round lighted Coca-Cola countertop sign. It measures 11¼ inches in diameter and has a glass front cover (later versions may have had a plastic front cover) and a gold plastic front piece surrounding the glass, all mounted to a metal housing. The glass cover has a large circular red emblem with white printed words “DRINK COCA-COLA” and much smaller words in black print: TRADE MARK ®. Outside the red circle with the Coke logo are greenish-yellow, green and blue vertical pin-stripe circular bands. When the sign is plugged in, as you walk by or change your position, the display appears to move, vibrate or strobe because of the striped pattern within the bands. Note: there are no moving parts; it’s just an illusion. The back says For use with one 25 watt daylite incandescent lamp on 110-120 volt current only. There is also the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. Inspection decal for an electric sign. This decal shows some wear and there are wear marks on the back metal housing. I have not opened the hinged section on the back, but that is where the bulb goes. The cord is more than 88 long. Overall, this sign is in very good vintage condition with no cracks or chips, as shown. Here’s some background on Price Bros. As excerpted from founder and advertising pioneer Louis Prices obituary published in January, 1999: Louis E. Price’s mark on Chicago is visible from the bronze plaques adorning Loop banks and the Wrigley Building to the illuminated Hamms and Budweiser ads behind neighborhood bars. Price was a Russian immigrant who in 1926 founded Price Brothers Inc. Price came to the United States when he was 10. He founded Price Brothers alone, but used “brothers” in the company name because it sounded more professional. At the start of World War II, the company, to support the war effort, began manufacturing coatings to camouflage walkie-talkie antennas. Vintage 40s 50s price bros counter top lighted coca cola coke sign
This is a very nice coke sign from some time around the 40s or 50s but i havent nailed down a date. Its in very good shape except for the obvious crack on the upper corner of the glass. Ive seen these with a few different staements in the upper glass but this one is blank. Never seen that before. The light works well and i cant tell if the cord is original or a replacement but it is in amazing shape its rather long and has a recepticle on the back for plugging a second device into the outlet.
