This is an Anchorage lumber and construction company vintage genuine porcelain sign and it is in excellent condition, with vibrant and rich colors just as it had when originally manufactured. STILL has a nice glossy shine as it is actual porcelain. A true collectible piece that displays beautifully. Minor chips in the outer field, as well as some moderate rusting around the mounting holes, as is to be expected from being displayed outside and hanging in the elements. Really, beautiful layers of porcelain. It is USED and was hanging being displayed outside. Very old and original tin sign from the E. Advertising their’Howatson’ style crosscut logging saw — the letters and the saw blade are all embossed in the metal — circa 1910s period (I found a picture of this exact type saw in a 1914 Marshall Wells Hardware Catalog) — the sign measures 6 5/8 by about 13 3/4 in. – likely very rare: this is the type of sign you always see on the walls of General Stores in the early real photo postcards of old Western towns. Wear from time — nailed to a board with 12 small nails — two splits along the top edge: 1 3/4 and 2 1/8 in. – looks like it was bent and unbent along the bottom edge as well — — always listing Historical items.
