We have for sale this super c. 1940’s-1950s rare, white background, vintage 3 (three foot) porcelain, enamel, metal, Coca-Cola advertising sign. The sign is a contoured button design. It is stamped with Allen-Morrison Sign Co. 3-48 which may indicate a date of 1948. It does have some small BB type dings and some small areas of enamel loss around some of the holes on the edge of the sign designed for hanging the piece. The wear is commensurate with age and usage and overall the image and condition are extremely good for this original point of sale advertising sign. We have attempted to capture the condition with the photographs. The use of the button sign was established to advertise Coca-Cola around 1947. This style of sign was originally available in five sizes: 4 feet, 3 feet, 2 feet, 16 inches, and 1 foot. The most common of these button or disc signs are metal with a red background. Rarer button versions have a white background and displayed a single bottle of Coke, and other specific items a retailer may have had custom printed.
