Huge Vintage 1950’s Chevrolet 2 Sided 25′ Neon Porcelain Metal Gas Oil Sign

For your consideration a vintage 1950’s sign. The sign is made of metal and is double sided. The signs have a porcelain finish and are made to be neon lit. The glass neon tubes for the letters are missing. Each side has three porcelain panels that make up Chevrolet. The transformers look to be complete and the body of the sign is still in good condition. The porcelain signs are still in good condition and there is no touch up. They could use a good cleaning. It measures overall with the mounting brackets 45″ in depth by 285″ in height. The body with the porcelain signs measures 280 1/2″ in height by 34″ in depth by 14 1/2 in width. The hanging bracket on the top measures 42 across. I can store the sign for as long as needed as long as it is paid for. It is in Crawfordsville, Indiana zip code 47933. It originally hung in front of City Chevrolet in Chicago’s famous auto row. An excellent addition to any advertising collection or if you just want to own a really neat old sign and a great piece of history. Chicago Illinois, Boat numbers and Letters. Advertising decals on box are in good shape. 3 decals on the outside and one on the inside opening lid. Box has some rust on sides see pictures for more details. Measure:13-5/8” long x 8-7/8” wide x 7” high. Lots of Black and RED decals including letters , numbers , and signs. General count is approximate. Black letters, Numbers – &. Letter B is missing along with No. 1-4 & some signs on black letters. On red set S&T are missing all numbers are present and some signs missing. These decals are about 78 years old so i dont think they are any good. They might be brittle and glue might not hold well. The soft warm original finish is present with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removal, repairs or. The sign is a flange sign. On both sides of the sign there is the graphic of dog standing proud, with the large wording above and below. On one side of the sign I do have a white inventory sticker on the right side. On the flange there is the smaller fine print wording of Stout Sign Co. Louis MO, Made in USA 3-57. Here is a great sign that you do not see around often, the sign has some minor paint ware here and there, but overall a great sign for display. I do have both sides pictured, with the first two photos being side 1 and the last two photos are of side 2. The sign measures about inches 12 wide and 9 inches tall.
