FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A VINTAGE 1941 “TRY SUPERMAN BREAD FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH AWESOME SUPERMAN GRAPHICS ” 11 3/4″ BY 11 3/4″ ROUND AND HEAVY (1 POUND, 9 OUNCES) PORCELAIN METAL COMIC BOOK, GASOLINE & OIL ADVERTISING SIGN. THIS SIGN HAS FANTASTIC GRAPHICS FROM SUPERMAN BREAD WHICH WAS SUPER POPULAR IN THE LATE 1930’S AND 1940’S. THIS SIGN DOES SHOW SOME LIGHT WEAR NEAR THE HOLES, AND TO THE RIM, BUT DISPLAYS VERY WELL WITH GORGEOUS GLOSS. THIS SIGN MEASURE 11 3/4 AND IS ROUND AND WEIGHTS AROUND 1 POUND, 9 OUNCES AND IS MADE OF THICK PORCELAIN METAL NOT CHEAP TIN OR THIN METAL. I WOULD MUCH RATHER HAVE A HEAVY PORCELAIN SIGN. Please do your own research as vintage does not necessarily mean original. Note: I was left with a large advertising collection along with some that I have collected over the years & I also attend high end estate sales in the area. Sign in good shape for age. It was stored in father-in-law’s basement and our own basement since at least 1966. Father-In-Law was supervisor for Wonder Bread store and truck route in OH. There are some marks in the body of sign and rust around some edges. Sign was stored with dark paper over the face and not sure it was ever displayed but cannot be sure that it was not displayed.
