True vintage, 1930’s-1940’s, solid wood General Store screen door, with rare Par-T-Pak Beverages advertising painted on the screen. I left the vintage metal Camels Cigarettes sign on the door as well, as I intend to sell this piece just as I found it, like a time capsule…. The door measures roughly 91.5″ tall x 42″ wide, and retains the original green paint color. I recently found this door in the basement of an old hotel here in Seattle, where it had sat for literally many decades collecting dust. Unfortunately, the person I bought it from couldn’t tell me where exactly in Seattle it actually originated from. I did spend a good chunk of time with some shop paper towels, dry wiping the dust off (no liquid was used). Being that this piece is so tall, me not having tons of time, and this piece being really dirty to start… There is most likely some more cleaning up to be done. You can see the oil marks that form over time from peoples hands, on and around the door handle. And on the back side of the door, if you look at the bottom, you can see where people used their foot to open this big old door. After a little online research, I learned that Par-T-Pak was only around from the 1930’s-1940’s, and was a Nehi product. So that helps a little bit to date the door…. The original hinges appear to be rusted out, so if you are going to use this door for your own General Store setup, you may need to replace those. The original screen is in surprisingly nice condition for its age, and for how it was stored, so it is only slightly coming out in a small area on one side of the top screen. I can send you a picture if needed…. There might possibly be one or two very very small punctures to the screen, but they are basically unnoticeable. On the lower screen, there was a bunch of chunky chalky white material stuck to the backside. I have no idea what this was, although it all brushed off easily for the most part, but as you can see in the photos, there still is a slight white mark there. I would think with time and patience, this should clean up. I hope I have answered any questions you may have regarding this fantastic screen door! I know it would serve well being used again for its original purposes as a General Store door, or it would make a really great display piece as it perfectly captures a moment in time.
