An IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SIGN AGE – The phrase Registered U. So with that information in mind, I can safely state that this sign came from the early 20 th century. Also it would have been made in 1975 or earlier. Hy-Line as a company, was founded in 1936 by Henry A Wallace. I can not find this sign in all the information I have gathered about Hy-Line as a company. I believe that the sign could likely be older that 1975. At any rate, it is at least 50 years old. This vintage double-sided sign features the iconic Hy-Line chicken farming/breeding brand. The colorful metal/tin sign is a great addition to any advertising or farming signage collection. I originally thought this sign was porcelain, because you can see and feel the different layers of paint. I’ve been since told that the sign is not porcelain. Either way I feel this is a great vintage piece. The sign’s origin and exact age are unknown, but it is an original piece from the United States. It would make a unique and rare addition to any collection. The sign measures 12″ long x 7 1/4″ high. The piece was picked up at an estate sale, where there was plenty of antique and vintage items. Thus the higher the price I must sell them for. This one is the nicest of all six. There is some very fine pitting in some spots around the edges. This is not noticeable when you stand back to admire its great shape. Please refer to pictures above. Also a few scratches are evident.
