Vintage Valvoline Motor Oil “Parts Department” Steel Sign – 1960s Nostalgic Garage Decor. Capture the golden era of American motoring with this vintage Valvoline Motor Oil “Parts Department” steel sign, a relic likely from the 1960s or 1970s, when muscle cars roared down Main Street, and the service station was the heart of every road trip. This sign once hung in a bustling dealership or auto parts department, guiding customers toward the trusted Valvoline brand to keep their vehicles running smoothly. Imagine a scene from the past: a 1967 Mustang Fastback or a Chevy Impala rolling up to the service bay, ready for an oil change or a quick tune-up. This sign was a witness to those iconic machines and the loyal customers who loved them. The 1960s and 1970s were transformative years for the American auto industry, with legendary cars like the Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Charger, and Plymouth Road Runner dominating the roads. Dealerships and service stations were bustling hubs of activity, where mechanics worked with their hands, customers chatted about horsepower and torque, and signs like this Valvoline piece proudly advertised trusted brands. It was a time of craftsmanship, pride in ownership, and a love for the open road. Founded in 1866, Valvoline is one of the oldest and most respected names in the automotive industry. By the mid-20th century, Valvoline was the go-to brand for motor oil, known for its innovation and reliability. During this time, Valvoline was at the forefront of automotive performance, becoming a household name and earning its place in garages and dealerships across the nation. This sign is a testament to that legacy, representing decades of trust and tradition. Length: 35 inches. Height: 15 inches. Material: Heavy-duty steel (magnetic and durable). This steel sign features a stunningly weathered patina, with rust and discoloration that add to its vintage charm. Its imperfections tell the story of decades of service and add character that only comes with age. This sign will be carefully packaged to preserve its condition and authenticity during transit. Whether you’re a collector of petroliana, a fan of classic cars, or just looking to bring a touch of nostalgic charm to your garage or man cave, this Valvoline sign is a perfect fit. It’s not just a piece of decor-it’s a piece of history. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this authentic artifact from a time when the American automotive spirit was at its peak!

RARE Vintage Porcelain 1930's Sign San Francisco Water Department Pulgas Temple
This porcelain sign advertising the San Francisco Water Department measures 9″ x 13″ and weighs about 1 1/2 pounds. The design is the Pulgas Water Temple. The background color is orangish yellow. The lettering is dark green. The lettering and temple are slightly raised (you can feel it with your fingertips). I do not know where it would have originally hung, but I do know that I have searched the internet and cannot find another one! Nor can I find photos of this SIGN anywhere, but photos of the Pulgas Water Temple are on the internet. Note: On the internet you will see different addresses for this temple site… Redwood City and Woodside… 56, 80, and 86 Canada Road!!!! The San Francisco Water Department (those wordings) was created March 3, 1930, under the Board of Public Works. The Pulgas (meaning “flea”) Water Temple with its Greek and Roman design was designed by architect William Merchant and built in 1938 (replacing the 1934 temporary structure). The temple was built to celebrate the completion of the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir and aqueduct across the California central valley to the Crystal Springs Reservoir. The Pulgas Water Temple was built by and maintained by the San Francisco Water District. Note: When you google Pulgas Water Temple you’ll find Redwood City OR Woodside, California as it’s location, but I called, and it. Is actually part of the city of San Mateo (but is due west of Redwood City). It is at the southeastern edge of the Crystal Springs Reservoir and can be reached from I-280 off Edgewood Road. The sign naturally shows signs of wear… Scratches, chipping of the porcelain, stains, and rust. Zoom in on the photos to examine the piece thoroughly. The grommets are original and appear to be brass. The item “RARE Vintage Porcelain 1930’s Sign San Francisco Water Department Pulgas Temple” is in sale since Tuesday, August 08, 2017.
