What a fantastic find from Minnesota. Prior owner mentioned sign was from Paynesville, MN. It was one of 3 original signs that were salvaged from a building. Not sure exactly of age? It appears to be from the 50’s, maybe earlier. The building had a Post Office, Garage (Automotive) and a Grocery store. This is solid wood. Not sure what type of wood or what it was previously. The early sign maker recycled what appears to me to me old siding or flooring. Not sure but maybe you can tell by the pictures, especially the reverse side. Its a great piece of history. Measures: 75″ long, 8″ wide and 1.25 thick.

Original “MOTEL OFFICE” Sign. 14″ H x 22″ W x 2 D. The original layer says “Authorized Fan Belt Service”. Top layer says: “Motel Office”. This is a great overpainted design that is original to the piece. This sign is heavy and was used (as is) for a motel. Originally painted over the top of another sign, this boasts excellent patina, wear and a layered effect that is very striking and cool. This was not something made to look old or designed after the fact for sale. This is a found object that happens to be two signs in one – the original and the one overpainted. Some rust and paint chipping but that makes this look even cooler. Side mount so it comes out perpendicular from a wall.
