Nice Bird Building Materials sign. 20″ by 29.5″. Embossed single sided tin. Sign came from the wall. Of a hardware store in Ohio. Sign has rust spots, slight bends, and paint nicks. Has correct rust inhibitor on back of sign. I would rate a 7.0 out of 10. I guarantee sign to be vintage and original. They manufactured tons of Ag and Beverage signs but made others as well. Stout changed their name in 1970 to Stout industries. Bird started in 1795 as a paper mill. The British burned it down in the war of 1812. They rebuilt and started making paper again. Late 1800’s they pivoted to making roofing products, primarily asphalt shingles. From then on they focused on building materials.
