Up for sale is a fantastic vintage Orange-Crush illuminated advertising sign featuring the classic Crushy character on both ends and a bold Orange-Crush logo across the center. The reverse-painted glass has tremendous color and displays beautifully when illuminated. This is an especially attractive piece with wonderful Art Deco-era styling and graphics. The orange background, dimensional-style lettering, geometric border and pair of Crushy mascots make for a striking display. Please note that the glass and housing are not believed to have originally been together. The metal housing appears to be an older 1930s period advertising/lighted-sign housing that was repurposed at some point (possibly from neon coca cola sign) for this 1940s Orange-Crush glass panel. The original lighting components were no longer complete/usable, so a modern LED light has been installed inside the housing. It illuminates the glass very evenly while producing very little heat and can easily be removed in the future if a collector wishes to restore or change the lighting arrangement. The glass shows age and minor imperfections consistent with a vintage advertising piece, but overall presents extremely well, especially when illuminated. Please examine all photos closely, including the detailed images of both Crushy characters, lettering and glass surface. The metal housing shows age, wear, paint loss, oxidation and other signs of previous use consistent with an older commercial advertising fixture. Vintage Orange-Crush advertising sign.
