A great looking piece. VINTAGE/ ANTIQUE WOODEN WOOD DIE CUT REDDY KILLOWATT ADVERTISING SIGN ELECTRIC DISPLAY. 35″ TALL, 34″ WIDE. LADY SAID BELONGED TO GRANDFATHER WHO WORKED FOR SMALL RURAL UTILITY COMPANY IN MISSOURI MO. PROBABLY LATE 1940’S -1950’S. PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT PHOTOGRAPHS. THERE IS A LITTLE DAMAGE TO HIS EAR THINGS, SOME CRACKING OF PAINT ALONG HIS “BELT” LINE AREA AND OF COURSE THE ORIGINAL WIRING AS SHOWN IS PROBABLY NOT USABLE TO HAVE THE NOSE LIGHT UP SAFELY. I HAVE LEFT IT ON TO AUTHENTICATE THE AGE OF THE DISPLAY SIGN. A VERY RARE AND CHARMING. DISPLAY ITEM NO MATTER WHAT YOUR FIELD OF INTEREST OF ADVERTISING. Reddy Kilowatt made his first published appearance on March 14, 1926 in an advertisement in. APC copyrighted the character on March 6, 1926. Over the next few years Reddy appeared in print advertising for the company. He made his first three-dimensional appearance at the Alabama Electrical Exposition of 1926. Under the umbrella of the Reddy Kilowatt Service (RKS), Collins used his interactions with other IOUs to promote what he called the Reddy Kilowatt Program. He entered into his first licensing agreement with the. Over the next couple of years, Collins would add several other major utilities including Ohio Edison Company. Pennsylvania Power and Light. South Carolina Power Company and. Tennessee Electric Power Company. RKS entered into a contract with each licensee. The original 1934 version was amended in 1941, 1953, 1963, 1968, 1971 and 1976. In signing the contract, the licensing IOU promised to always represent Reddy Kilowatt as genial, likeable, well-mannered [and] even-tempered and to abide by generally accepted standards of good taste. Dates from the turn of the last century circa late 1800s to early 1900s. In very nice age appropriate condition having true authentic age character. Has a glue reinforced split which is very inconspicuous. The hand is missing a couple pin nails which could easily be replaced. MASSIVE CARVED WOOD FISH FLY FISHING LODGE CABIN TROUT SALMON SCULPTURE FOLK ART. YouTube video of the fish to show the scale. THICK and MASSIVE and HEAVY!! THIS IS A WORLD RECORD CATCH!! This is an enormous one of a kind custom crafted solid wood carved fish. Most likely this was carved in the late 1960’s or early 1970’s and is made of thick heavy plank wood possibly reclaimed from an old schooner. The piece was acquired from a wealthy estate overlooking the Mystic River in CT. The fish resembles a salmon or a rainbow trout. AMAZING one of a kind showpiece, it could be the focal point of your home, restaurant, or business. It is extremely heavy and has heavy duty ropes strung through to hang from a ceiling. I would estimate this piece weighs around 250 pounds. The fish will need a few touch ups here and there. It would make an excellent addition to any collection.
